Procedimiento técnico Dicha pasta se obtiene por fusión en el horno (entre 700° y 850°) del polvo de esmalte, en cuya composición, semejante a la del vidrio, intervienen las siguientes sustancias: sílice (50%), minio (35%), sosa y potasa (15%) y sustancias colorantes (generalmente óxidos metálicos); una vez enfriada, adquiere consistencia sólida, lo que permite su pulimentación y nivelación.
